 If you are interested in trout fishing, it is available on almost all of our trips from full day rides to extended pack trips. If fishing is the primary activity you are interested in, we can plan your rides so that you can fish a variety of waters. Our fishing is done on small alpine (high elevation) lakes, streams and beaver ponds. Brook trout and cutthroat trout are the species that are common to these waters. We encourage catch and release methods except for a few trout to be eaten in camp.  Fishing with artificial flies is often the most successful method, and we can help beginners with flyfishing methods or show you how to fish flies with your spinning rod. We will send a fishing equipment list and answer any questions you might have. Gunnison has many well stocked sporting goods stores where you can purchase or rent any of the equipment and tackle you will need. Fishing licenses can also be purchased there.  Children under 15 years of age are not required to have a license to fish.
